Zappe wins C-USA male Athlete of the Year award

Zappe is the sixth quarterback in FBS history with at least 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns.

DALLAS, Texas — New England Patriots and former East Titan quarterback Bailey Zappe is named the Michael L. Slive Male Athlete of the Year. Conference USA named both the male and female athletes of the year award for the 2021- 2022 season. While at Western Kentucky, Zappe broke the NCAA single season record for passing yards with 5,967 and passing touchdown with 62. Zappe was drafted in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL draft. Zappe also won the 2021 Earl Campbell Tyler Rose award and he was named a finalist for the Manning award, as well as a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien and Walter Camp Player of the Year awards.
