Yoakum, Refugio Football Advance To State Finals

Two area high school football teams are headed to state. Yoakum scores with four minutes left in the fourth, TD pass from Bryson Hagan to Ethan Owens, and Yoakum beats Malakoff, 28-24, in the 3A Division I State semis. The Bulldogs are going to play for state. Yoakum takes on Mineola for the State 3A Division I championship next Thursday at 8:00 p.m. at Jerry World, home of the Cowboys. Refugio wins big, 38-14, over Centerville and its headed to its fourth State championship game in the past six seasons. The Bobcats will face Crawford for the 2A Division I State championship next Thursday 1:00 p.mm. at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
