Wounded Warriors Help Victoria Residents Recover

Several veterans from all over the country have teamed up to help the residents of Victoria recover after the storm.

Veterans with “Team Murphy Outdoors” have come to Victoria to cook hot meals and give supplies to the area.

On Wednesday, they were at the Catholic War Veterans Hall giving out hot dogs, hamburgers, personal hygene products, and more supplies to residents to recover from the storm.

“Anybody that needs anything, we’ll give you what we got. We’ve got guys from New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, we’re from Mississippi, and we just came together as one unit to help you guys. Being from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, we could be next. Any opportunity we have to give back, we’re available to anybody who needs us,” said RJ Tanner.

These veterans were at Warriors Weekend this past year, and decided to come and give back to the area that impacted them whle they were here just a couple of months ago.

“”Warriors Weekend has done a lot for Veterans in this Country… This was just an opportunity for us to be able to come back and help in this community and this town for everything that they’ve done for us over the years,” said Tanner.

Team Murphy will be back on Thursday to give back at the Catholic War Veterans Hall on 1007 S. Main St. and South Texas Performance on 1308 SW Moody St. They will be out from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm and 5:00- 7:00 pm giving meals and supplies.
