Woman arrested for intoxicated assault after two-car collision
35-year-old Clarrisa Gale Silvas was determined to be intoxicated at the time of the crash says authorities
VICTORIA, Texas – A woman is behind bars after being arrested for intoxicated assault after a two-car collision near Sam Houston Highway and N. Ben Jordan St. on Monday June 27, 2022.
Authorities say they responded to the scene where they located a woman with severe injuries on the roadway.
Based on a preliminary investigation and witness statements, 46-year-old Jessica Ortiz was exiting the driveway, and for an unknown reason, stopped the vehicle and exited her car.
35-year-old Clarrisa Gale Silvas was driving south on Sam Houston Dr. and struck both Ortiz and her vehicle. Ortiz was transported to Citizen Medical Center and then to a hospital in San Antonio to be treated for her serious injuries.
Authorities say during the investigation, it was determined that Silvas was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
