Woman arrested accused in stabbing of 63-year-old man
Stabbing victim expected to be okay
VICTORIA, Texas – Victoria Police Department says one woman was arrested after stabbing one man and barricading herself inside her home on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
Authorities say they received a call at 5:44 p.m. to a disturbance at a business on the 2000 block of N. Ben Wilson St. Someone had been stabbed and the offender ran from the location, said police.
52-year-old Regina Preston is accused of stabbing a 63-year-old Victoria man causing non-life threatening injuries (which were treated at the scene), prior to barricading herself inside her home in the 3100 block of E. Rio Grande St.
Preston would eventually come out of her home and was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Police said Preston resisted arrest and assaulted an officer while being escorted to a patrol unit. She taken to an area hospital where she continued to resist arrest and assault officers.
Preston was taken to Victoria County Jail where she would also be charged with Assault on a Public Servant, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Resisting Arrest.
