Wings Over Texas airshow adds two military performance teams
U.S. Navy team and VFA team join air show
NAS KINGSVILLE – NAS Kingsville announced today that the United States Navy Parachute Team “The Leap Frogs” and the Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 125 F-35 Flight Demonstration Team have committed to participate in the Wings Over South Texas Air Show, April 4-5.
The two teams join a star-studded aerial lineup that features the world-famous U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, and a host of other military and civilian performers. Since 1946, the Blue Angels have represented the Navy and Marine Corps across the country and around the world, thrilling audiences with their precision flight maneuvers and aerobatics.
The Leap Frogs are the official parachute demonstration team of the United States Navy, under the command of the Naval Special Warfare Command. The team is comprised of active-duty Navy SEALs, Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen, and support personnel. Learn more about the Leap Frogs here and watch their YouTube videos here.
VFA 125, also known as the “Rough Raiders,” is based at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California. The “Rough Raiders” are a Fleet Replacement Squadron flying the F-35C Lightning II. Check them out here and here.
The Wings Over South Texas Air Show is one of the largest, free military airshows in the region. Admission and parking for the two-day event is free to the public and festivities kick off Friday night, April 3rd, at 6 p.m., with a city sponsored “Meet the Blues” event at the J.K.
