White House plans ‘Made in America’ week
Bacon lovers are causing the price of pork to rise. A data breach at a national newspaper you may read, plus the White House is dubbing this week ‘Made in America week.
Our lust for bacon is not only hurting our waistlines but also our wallets. According to the Wall Street Journal, our craving for the breakfast treat is pushing pork prices to record highs and pig farmers are struggling to keep up with demand. The market-research firm, Nielsen says last year Americans bought 14% more bacon compared to 2013.
A data breach at the Dow Jones. The financial firm says the personal information of more than two million customers has been exposed.
This includes subscribers to the Wall Street Journal. The company says an error in a cloud computing service is to blame and does not believe any data was taken.
The White House is calling this week “Made in America week.” A showcase is taking place today at the executive mansion featuring products from all 50 states. President Trump is also expected to issue a proclamation Wednesday on the importance of making goods in America.
