What to expect on Community Crossroads

This week on Community Crossroads

VICTORIA, Texas – Here’s a look at what to expect on Community Crossroads … we may show you a move or two of yoga. So, get ready!

We learn about some of the upcoming events and exhibits at Moody Gardens in Galveston. Jerri Hamachek with the tropical paradise talks about how Moody Gardens has adapted while in a pandemic. They also welcomed a new friend Duke the sea lion. Palm Beach at Moody Gardens will also be closing for the season after Monday, Sept. 6.

The Children’s Discovery Museum of the Golden Crescent began their countdown for their annual gala. It’s a one of a kind event. The theme? Party Animals! The museum’s 6th annual gala is on Thursday, Sept. 16 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the Children’s Discovery Museum.  You can visit the museum with the kiddos for their monthly art workshops, their upcoming Halloween event (no date yet), tot time and STEAM on Saturdays.

Victoria Farmers’ Market talks about how the recent rainfall affected their farmers’ crops. And more rain on the way, according to our meteorologists. Fruits and vegetables are the first things to come to mind when heading to out, but there’s such a variety. Not only does the Victoria Farmers’ Market provide a taste of local foods, but they also find a way to give back to community by donating produce to the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent. Make your way and shop local every Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.

Yoga, pets and the benefit of it all. Abi Blinka shows us a move or two and explains how yoga can be beneficial to your health. Blinka recently partnered with a nonprofit to teach a yoga class that included kittens in hope of finding them a forever home. Blinka showed us some moves .. let’s just say our 25 News Now anchor had some stretching to do. Blinka’s yoga studio is called Blackbird Yoga in Cuero.

Showtimes are:
