West Volleyball Starts Pre-Season Workouts

West volleyball’s first day of practice, coming Monday.
Starting her fifth season as Warrior volleyball head coach, Alysia Hill decided to do something different. She put their first scrimmage as part of the team’s tryout process. Coach Hill told me they have just a handful of varsity players back after losing seven seniors. Among those returning from that area finalists team, the eighth straight playoff team for West volleyball, is first team All-District pick Lexi Morris and second team All-District selection Erin Reynolds. I talked with coach Hill. “Tryouts and scrimmages really gave us a good look at all the girls. By seeing their talent over the weekend, we’re going to be pretty good. We will lack some varsity experience, but these girls are willing to learn. They’re having fun on the court, it’s a different personality on the court. I’m really excited to coach them this year.”
West volleyball opens its season Tuesday night at East Bernard.
