West Softball Faces First Playoff In Seven Years 4-24

Warriors Host Bi-District Thursday

West softball has a very unusual home game Thursday night. It’s a playoff game.
The Warriors have not made the playoffs since 2012, and they started out district play this season 0-3. But West rallied and clinched the final playoff spot by beating archrival East last Thursday night. Sean talked with two Warriors about how they feel about ending their playoff drought.

Said freshman Kat Zarate, “We’re pretty excited, I would say we’re more excited than nervous. Because East was kind of like the same team, so I think we got it.”

Said junior Lacey Littles, “We’ve had our ups and downs this season, but we’ve always found a way to come out on top in the games that meant the most to us, and we needed to win. We’ve always come out on top. So, if we just play the way we’ve been playing this whole season, we should be fun.”

West softball’s first playoff game in seven years comes Thursday night.
The Warriors take on Flour Bluff in Bi-District at 6:30 at the Victoria Youth Sports Complex.
