West soccer drops pair of district home games to Veterans Memorial

Warrior girls and boys lose to Eagles Tuesday night

VICTORIA, Texas — The Warriors dropped a pair of district home games to Veterans Memorial Tuesday night.

In the first game, a pair of first half Eagles goals created a hole the West girls were unable to climb out of. The Warriors couldn’t maintain possession or find the back of the net against a strong Veterans Memorial attack, getting shut out 2-0 at Memorial. Macey Franz recorded seven saves in goal for the Warriors as they fell to 3-2-1 in district play.

In the nightcap, Mateo Lauper found pay dirt for the West boys but the Warriors fell to Vets, 3-1. With the loss the Warriors dropped to an even 2-2-2 in district.

West boys and girls soccer will continue district play at Moody Friday night.
