West powerlifting coach places fifth at The Arnold

West powerlifting coach Dustin Meaux swapped roles on Sunday. It was his turn to compete, which he did at the Arnold Schwarzeneggar Classic in Columbus, Ohio and took home 5th place.

The invitation-only weightlifting competition hosts around 18,000 athletes. Meaux lifted in the Titan Pro-Bench Bash, facing 28 of the top bench pressers in the world. The West coach bench-pressed a new personal record, 683 pounds.

His 5th-place finish wasn’t his only achievement this weekend – he also had three Warrior girls qualify for the state powerlifting meet at regionals on Saturday.
