West girls basketball falls, Goliad boys win
The Warriors’ valiant playoff run came to an end Friday night.
West girls basketball, going for its first-ever regional finals berth, fell to Kerrville Tivy, 70-62 on Friday in San Antonio. Carrie Barrera-Lacy led the Warriors with 23 points, but is wasn’t enough as West was unable to hold a 12 point, fourth quarter lead. Ashley Giesalhart added 13 for the Warriors, who finish the season with an impressive, 36-6 overall record.
Elsewhere in the Crossroads, the Goliad boys advanced to round three of the 3A basketball playoffs. The Tigers earned a 65-59 victory over CC London behind 32 points from Rocky Morris, his third consecutive game with 30 or more.
