West Football Star Gets State Award & West Boys’ Golf Results
Star RB Gets Ford Honor
Victoria, Texas — West football’s star running back gets a big honor Friday morning. Tyvon Hardrick, getting the Built Ford Tough State 5A High School Football Player Of The Week award for week three. Tyvon and head coach Courtney Boyce, receiving the award from Kevin Janak, sales manager at Mac Haik Ford of Victoria. The junior running back earned the award for rushing for 326 yards and five touchdowns in the West win over Moody. I talked with Tyvon and coach Boyce. Said Hardrick, “It’s very special to me. It lets me know I have very amazing abilities in playing football.” Said coach Boyce, “It’s a great thing for the program, great thing for Tyvon and the team. It showed a lot of great effort and I’m just real proud of these guys.”

A good Friday for West boys golf at the Veterans Memorial Invitational in Corpus Christi.
The Warrior boys had their low round of the season, 327, good for second place in the opening round. The best West scores, 76 for Jared Lofland, 80 for Caleb Meisner. Those are their best high school scores ever.
