West Football Season Preview 8-27

Warriors Open Season Against Calhoun

West football looks ahead to start its 10th season Friday night.
The Warriors’ only pre-season scrimmage last Friday night, coming against La Grange. After a slow start, the Warriors outscored the Leopards, 13-10, in the part of the scrimmage where they were keeping score. West returns nine starters from last season, including two All-State picks in running back Tyvon Hardrick and defensive back Bryce Sitka. I talked with head coach Courtney Boyce about the best things he saw from his team in the scrimmage.

“I like how they played in the quarter play and then in the overtime. We handled the adjustments. They came out at the start offensively that we hadn’t seen before. We don’t really get to scout a team and see those kinds of things. I was impressed with how the team was able to execute and be able to make adjustments on the fly. “
West football opens its season Friday night at 7:30 at Memorial Stadium against the Calhoun Sandcrabs..
