West Football Preview & VISD Football Ticket Sales Info
West football’s season begins Friday night on the coast. The Warriors look to make the playoffs once again after winning the bi-district round last November. As i reported Monday night, quarterback Jordan Fillmore, listed as day-to-day by head coach Courtney Boyce after suffering an undisclosed injury in the Warriors scrimmage at La Grange. Running back Tyvon Hardrick returns after a strong sophomore season. Back on defense are starters Bryce Sitka, Hagan McLarty, Austin Rabalais, Damian Oranday and Qwashawn Thomas. I asked coach Boyce what he likes the most about his offense. “Right now continuing to stay on our blocks and we’re throwing and catching well. There’s a good familarity with the offense by the team. That’s helped push us forward and to continue to push that threshold to get better every day.”

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Eagles coach Doug Pederson says he probably won’t reveal whether Carson Wentz or Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles will start the season opener until 90 minutes before the game.
Wentz has been recovering from surgery last December to repair a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee. He is practicing, but hasn’t been medically cleared for contact.
Foles struggled in two preseason games and won’t play Thursday night against the New York Jets. The offense didn’t score any points on 14 drives with Foles under center in the preseason. However, he was missing nearly all starters at the skill positions.
Pederson indicated he would make a decision Friday, but doesn’t plan to disclose which quarterback will line up when Philadelphia hosts the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 6 until game day.
