Calhoun and Calallen play in the district championship game
CALHOUN, Texas — The Calhoun Sandcrabs are hosting the Calallen Wildcats in the district championship game. These two teams met last year at Sandcrab nation for the 2019 district championship where Calhoun won the title 17-6. The Sandcrabs are 8-1 both teams come into the game unbeaten in district. Sandcrabs are ranked #3 in the state while Calallen is ranked #4. A win tonight will clinch the district playoffs and a number one seed in the playoffs. The Calhoun Sandcrabs are hosting the Calallen Wildcats in the district championship. The Sandcrabs have been an offensive force this season — putting up more than 34 points in seven of its eight games this season. With the help of running back, Steve Johnson and quarterback Jarius Stewart have combined to rush over 2,600 and 41 touchdowns in the option offense. But this Calallen defense might be one of the best they have fought this season — as the Wildcat’s defense has held six of their seven opponents to 24 points or less.
