The Brahmas and Cardinals battle it out yet again

HALLETTSVILLE, Texas —The Brahmas are looking for a win tonight against the Columbus Cardinals. Cardinals defeated the Brahmas in the quarterfinals last season. The Hallettsville seniors are still fresh with that memory and want different results this year. The Brahmas are 6-2 and lost to very tough teams Shiner and Jim Ned. And as for the Cardinals they lost their season opener to Giddings in double overtime. Both these programs are very competitive and tonight’s match-up is not only a rivalry game but also a battle to the district championship. Lets check out some of their numbers. The Hallettsville Brahmas defeated the Yoakum Bulldogs last Friday 21-13. Jonathon Brooks had 195 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. Chase Patek had 117 yards passing and a touchdown. On the season Brooks has 1,272 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns and Patek has 1,138 passing yards and 10 touchdowns. Ty Gerke has 360 receiving yards and a touchdown. For the Columbus Cardinals they are coming of a 51-26 win over Hempstead from last Friday.
