VICTORIA, Texas - Rain bands associated with landfalling Tropical Storm Fernand extend from the offshore waters through the Coastal Bend and southward into northern Mexico, with very little wetness occurring in the Crossroads today. Once the storm moves completely inland, we will see isolated showers return Thursday. Our next chance for rain is Monday through midweek, when a tropical wave and an upper level disturbance weaken the ridge and allow isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, expect afternoon temperatures around 100 degrees, with heat indices of 105 to 110. Early morning readings will be in the middle to upper 70s. With increased cloud cover and rain chances, highs will only reach the middle 90s by Tuesday and Wednesday.
