VICTORIA, Texas - While significant rainfall has been at a premium in recent weeks, the scenario of extreme heat and humidity amidst a moderate drought may be losing momentum. A plume of deep tropical moisture from the northwestern Caribbean is heading toward the western Gulf of Mexico and may bring more substantial rainfall toward the end of the week. The wetter regime is expected to persist through the weekend and into the first half of next week. Accordingly, as the upper level high breaks down and shifts well to our west, the above normal temperatures also will fade. Expect highs in the middle 90s, with lows in the upper 70s.
