Isolated rain chances are the headline this week

VICTORIA, Texas - Isolated showers and thunderstorms continue to dot the Crossroads, and could even continue into tonight. Expect partly cloudy skies tonight, and a chance for an isolated rain shower, especially on the coast. Lows will be in the mid 70s. For your Sunday, we're looking at mostly sunny conditions with the possibility of an isolated shower. Temperatures will be in the low 90s, and heat indices could pose a problem if you're outside for a prolonged period.

The rest of the week looks much like this weekend. A mid-level ridge tries to bring us drier air, however, as the present upper-level ridge weakens, it won't succeed. With this, the isolated rain chances will not be going anywhere anytime soon. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies, with an isolated shower or thunderstorm possible along the sea breeze. Highs will remain in the low to mid 90s, with lows in the mid 70s.

The tropics are a bit quieter, at least on the Atlantic side. This will be short-lived though. Jerry is expected to stay out to sea, and our eyes turn to 2 new disturbances. One is east of the Lesser Antilles and could turn into a tropical depression early next week. The next disturbance hasn't even made it into the Atlantic and the national hurricane center is watching it. This disturbance is expected to quickly turn into a tropical depression early next week once it makes it into the ocean. We will continue to monitor these disturbances as things develop.
