VICTORIA, Texas — Heat continues to show no mercy on South Texas, but at least the sunshine is back? Thanks to a high pressure system that is strengthening moving in from the Gulf, we are in for a round of stifling heat indices and abundant sunshine. Every day this forecast period is showing mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 90s during the hottest part of the day. Winds out of the south are doing us no favors either.
It's important to remember with temperatures and humidity values reaching these levels, the heat index will quickly reach dangerous values for those outside. Remember to drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks in the shade, and check your backseat for animals and children before you lock up! Trips to the pool are in order for the next week, but other outdoor chores need to be done in the morning or wait until it's a bit cooler.
