WHAT WE’RE TRACKING:
The strong southeasterly flow will usher deeper moisture into the Crossroads starting late Sunday through Monday night ahead of the next cold front. The cold front will enter the northwestern part of the Crossroads and move off the coast by mid-afternoon Tuesday. Models indicate rain totals could be around 1- 2 inches. Drier conditions filter into the area through Tuesday afternoon, ending rain chances.
PLANNING YOUR NEXT 24 HOURS:
Tonight: A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7pm. Mostly clear, with a low around 45. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 67. Breezy, with a northwest wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Sunday Night: Clear, with a low around 39. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east after midnight.
We`ll have some instability, mostly south of I-10 (depending on the track of the low), although it will be relatively cool out ahead of the next system moving in late Monday through Tuesday. It`ll be tough to destabilize things enough for strong thunderstorms to develop along the coast, but it certainly won`t be impossible. There is much more confidence in locally heavy rainfall occurring as the low pushes through on Tuesday. Widespread amounts of 1″-2″ with isolated higher amounts possible. A strong cold front pushes through as the low departs to our northeast and sets the stage for a cool and dry period to take us to the end of the work week. Through Thursday, we can expect abundant sunshine, high temperatures in the 50s, and low temperatures in the 30s/40s. Clouds begin to return late Thursday.
Monday: A few clouds, with a high near 65. East wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Monday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Breezy conditions.
Tuesday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 70. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39. Breezy.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 60.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35.
Thursday: A few clouds, with a high near 61.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38.
Friday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 65.
Saturday: Afternoon showers, high 72.
Saturday Night: Scattered showers and a few storms, low 63.
