VICTORIA, Texas - Partly cloudy, hot and humid conditions persist over the Crossroads late today, but a stable layer in the mid levels of the atmosphere is impeding thunderstorms development despite the passing of an upper level disturbance. Late afternoon heat, however, will allow isolated storms briefly before sunset, then isolated showers and a few storms will regenerate on Friday. Thereafter, expect sunny afternoons and fair nights through the weekend. More instability returns the first of next week, allows isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be near 100 on Friday, then in the upper 90s thereafter. Lows remain in the upper 70s to around 80.
