VICTORIA, Texas - A dome of high pressure moved east of the Crossroads this morning, beginning the return of Gulf moisture on a gusty south southeast wind. After two chilly mornings with lows in the 40s, much milder conditions will prevail through midweek. Along with the warmer and more humid conditions will come rain chances. In fact, a strong upper level disturbance will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms Wednesday, beginning as isolated showers Tuesday night and culminating with powerful thunderstorms late Wednesday night and into very early on Thursday. Some of these nighttime storms may become severe. Fair skies will prevail thereafter through the weekend, with scattered showers and storms returning for Monday. Look for highs in the 80s, with lows in the 50s and 60s.
