Drier start to week, minimal rain chances after

VICTORIA, Texas - Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue to coat the Crossroads this afternoon, and will continue until the sun goes down. This evening can be expected to be clearer than last night, with partly cloudy skies. Lows will be in the low 80s to upper 70s.

The work week is going to start on the dry side, with no rain chances on Monday or Tuesday. Highs on Monday will be in the upper 90s under sunny skies, with heat indices well into the triple digits. Tuesday we almost hit 100 degrees under sunny skies, so we could see another heat advisory issued in the not too distant future.

The rest of the week looks hot, with chances for an isolated rain shower or thunderstorm across the area. Highs will be in the upper 90s, and lows in the upper 70s. You can expect Mostly sunny conditions where these pop-up showers don't appear. However, by Sunday, it looks like we dry out once again.

As for the tropics, we are monitoring the development of Tropical Storm Dorian as the storm continues to move west. Right now it is too early to tell if it will even hit the United States. It is expected to become Hurricane Dorian by mid-week this week. Tune into Newscenter 25 for all the latest updates on the tropics.
