VICTORIA, Texas - A dome of cold Canadian air nestled into South Texas this afternoon while layers of mid and upper level moisture yielded a large area of light to moderate rain. That rain is producing only modest precipitation totals in the wake of yesterday's much heavier rainfall. The rain comes to an end this evening, in time for Friday Football Fever. Take your coats, but rain gear will not be needed. After a mostly cloudy night, skies will clear for the weekend and a gentle warm up will ensure. Expect Sunday and Monday to warm to the 70s, but a powerful cold front late Monday will induce widespread rain and thunderstorms that will accompany the coldest air of the season thus far. Isolated to scattered showers will appear Tuesday through Thursday, and a light freeze is possible Wednesday morning.
