Warriors Weekend host 2nd annual Thanksgiving meal for veterans
VICTORIA, Texas — Warriors Weekend teamed up with a local restaurant to provide a warm thanksgiving meal to veterans in the Crossroads who may not have a place to celebrate the holiday.
Warriors Weekend board member and organizer Ray Vigus, arrived early to help set up, saying,
“…you look around and you’ll see so many veterans coming in and just a little overwhelmed at first visit, they don’t realize that we really are there for them.”
Serving dozens, the 2nd annual Thanksgiving lunch filled the VFW hall this holiday.
“On behalf of my family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for being here,” adds Diane Patterson with Warriors Weekend.
“We go all year round, we travel a lot to do these events, but it’s probably one of the most heartfelt things I’ve probably ever been a part of.” says Vigus.
With Uncle Mutts BBQ providing a full course meal, free of charge to veterans and their families, Warriors Weekend hopes this event continues to reach more and more veterans next year.
“Try to keep up with our events, and please come out, introduce yourself to us, give us a chance to honor you.” adds Vigus.
Happy Thanksgiving Crossroads!
