Warrior’s Weekend Field of Honor team seeking student ambassadors

An opportunity for students to earn scholarship money while celebrating the service and sacrifices of Veterans and active Military members

VICTORIA, Texas –  For the first time ever, the Field of Honor Team is seeking out 50 student Ambassadors (from elementary school through college) who would like to earn a Warrior’s Weekend Field of Honor Scholarship. Students can earn the scholarship by providing a way for individuals, families and businesses to celebrate the service and sacrifices of Veterans and Active Military members through Field of Honor flag sponsorships.

Given the COVID-19 year, many students were unable to participate in annual flag sales through their youth or student organizations. The Field of Honor flag sponsorships allows students another opportunity to not only participate in flag sales but earn money for their own projects, school expenses, or toward whatever they wish to apply for the scholarship money. Students will be able to create a meaningful impact for their community while earning money to assist in their college education.

What do students have to do to get involved?

  • Sign up with Mrs. Nancy Borden at 361-649-5875 to get started
  • Sell flag sponsorships to the community at $40 each
  • Sell as many as possible! The more a student sells, the more scholarship money they’ll receive.

“It’s not just flag sales, it’s more like offering a family the opportunity to honor their veteran,” said Col Mike Petrash, Director of Warrior’s Weekend Field of Honor. ” This program is an amazing way to pay it forward and give these kids insight as to what these Veterans and Military members did for their country.

This opportunity will end on April 21 and the Flag Posting is on May 1 so be sure to get started right away if you’re interested in this incredible opportunity!
