Warriors' Alexis James strikes out 10 in win against Mission Veterans Memorial

VICTORIA,Texas–The West Warriors softball team gets their first playoff win in nine years.

The West Warriors faced the Lady Patriots at Robstown Lady Picker Field. Sophmore Alexis James started for the Warriors and in her first playoff game threw a no-hitter in six innings, striking out ten and not walking a batter, in what would be a dominating performance by the Warriors as they shut out the Lady Patriots 10-0.

Sydney Harvey started the hits for the Warriors in the bottom of the first inning with a triple. The Warriors took an early 2-0 lead and by the fourth inning they were up 6-0. In the fifth inning Warriors drove in three more runs and senior Christine Wenske scored the games final run to top off an amazing win.

Next the Warriors will face the winner of Mercedes and Valley View.
