Walgreens testing drone deliveries

Walgreens is preparing to test out a new drone delivery service.

The pharmacy chain announced Thursday that it will try using drones for on-demand deliveries next month.

The pilot program will begin in Christiansburg, Virginia.

Walgreens says customers there will not be able to get prescriptions delivered.

But the unmanned aircraft will deliver food, beverages, over-the-counter medications and other items.

Walgreens is partnering with drone operators Wing Aviation for the program.
