VPD Mourn the Loss of Officer K9 Baco

(VICTORIA, TX) – The Victoria Police Department is sad to announce the passing of K9 Baco who retired in September of 2015. When Baco retired, he was already showing signs of aging and had difficulty getting around.

Baco joined the Victoria Police Department in October 2008, spending more than six years serving the community and department alongside his handler, Detective Jason Stover. Baco died on March 23rd, just short of his 11th birthday.

Baco had a remarkable career and will be missed by fellow officers. Police Chief Jeff Craig, stated “Baco was an outstanding member of our department, aiding in countless police operations. We were fortunate to have had him with the department for so long and he will be missed.”

Baco will be laid to rest at Memory Meadows Pet Memorial Park at a later date. The exact date has not been determined.
