VPD crime analyst earns statewide recognition

VICTORIA, Texas – Victoria Police Department Crime Analyst Erin Gabrysch received honorable mentions for the Texas Law Enforcement Analyst Network’s Member of the Year. Gabrysch also received Analytical Product Award recognitions

The Member of the Year selection recognizes crime analysts who go above and beyond in the field of analysis and make significant contributions to the profession. The Analytical Product Award recognizes crime analysts who produce a report or other product that was used for problem-solving, training, technical assistance, identification, arrest or prosecution.

Gabrysch analyzes crime data to produce daily, weekly, biweekly and monthly crime reports. The reports include information on types, frequency and locations of criminal activity.

This data then helps police department personnel and City leaders to understand patterns of criminal activity in Victoria. Patrol and investigative supervisors also use this data in their daily deployment of police resources.

Gabrysch joined the Victoria Police Department in June 2019. She earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematical sciences and her master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Houston-Victoria.
