VPD arrest two in Convenience Store robbery

Victoria Police Department officers responded to an armed robbery at a convenience store located in the 1400 block of N. John Stockbauer Drive on Saturday, August 18th, 2018, at 3:30 AM, . The offender, a young Hispanic male, entered the location brandishing a long barreled handgun. No money was taken, nor was anyone injured before the offender left the location on foot.

The Victoria Police Department secured an arrest warrant charging Michael Martinez, 18, of Victoria, with the robbery of the convenience store after the investigation.

Victoria Police Department officers found Martinez in a vehicle driven by Jonathan Rojas,18, of Victoria, in the 1200 block of E. Brazos St. where a felony traffic stop was made. The Gulf Coast Fugitive Offender Task Force assisted VPD in the arrest. Victoria officers seized items related to the robbery, as well as drugs, weapons, and ammunition.

Martinez was arrested for the outstanding Aggravated Robbery warrant as well as Possession of Marijuana and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon. Rojas was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon.
