VISD Swimming To Host Major Meet

West, East Taking On 12 Teams

VISD swimming, close to hosting a big meet that was originally planned for last November.

The event was supposed to be held at the VISD Aquatic Center then. but there were multiple problems at the center. The VISD swimmers practiced at the Citizens Healthplex for a few weeks before returning to the Aquatic Center. Everything is now fixed, and West and East will compete there against 12 other high schools. I talked with three VISD swimmers about how they coped with the changes.

Said Warriors swimmer and diver Tanner Luke, “It was tough to go to a different pool. It was a little bit smaller and more cramped. But we got through it and now we’re back. Everything’s good. ”
Said Warrior swimmer Jackson Crocker, “We made it work. We had a smaller pool, less lanes and we just did our best to make it work for everything. ”

Said Titan swimmer Angelyn Tovar, “It feels better. It feels like a breath of fresh air that we’re finally back. We’re getting into the swing of things, it’s good. ”

The VISD Swimming And Diving Invitational meet is this weekend at the VISD Aquatic Center. It starts with the diving Friday afternoon at 5:00, the swimming starts Saturday morning at 10:15.
