VISD Superintendent To Share Listening and Learning Tour Report
Thursday night, the Victoria ISD Superintendent Dr. Quintin Shepherd will share his “Listening and Learning” tour report.
The report will include the information gathered through the thought exchange and what next steps will take place as a result of the feedback.
When Shepherd came to the Victoria ISD in June, he said his immediate priority was to find out what taxpayers appreciated about the district and where they feel the district can improve.
His presentation tonight to the board will include the responses from the community, interactive information that will be available to the public, and how the public can be a part of the future design of the Victoria ISD.
Dr. Shepherd’s presentation will highlight two focus areas that emerged as top concerns from participants and three task forces that will form to examine each of those areas that emerged as top concerns from participants and three task forces that will form to examine each of those areas.
Two task forces will be formed to address the topic of innovation and student learning pathways. One for elementary, and one for secondary.
The groups will consider student learning pathways, instructional technology initiatives, technology needs, curricular considerations, and areas of innovation within the instructional program.
The third task force will analyze the area of efficiency and resource management. Members of this task force will audit and review current efficiency and resource processes to identify opportunities for streamlining and enhancing, in an effort to maximize effectiveness.
Dr. Shepherd’s presentation to the public will be available to the public after the meeting through the Victoria ISD website.
Tonight’s board meeting is at 6 pm at 102 Profit drive, the Victoria ISD Admin Building in the Board Room.
