VISD H.S. Football Teams Continue June Drills
Titans, Warriors Both Making Progress
VISD high school football workouts, continuing Thursday morning.
East football, wrapping up its third week of workouts with its second workout on the new Frost Bank Field at Memorial Stadium. 15 Titans took part in this workout, which included skills development, conditioning, along with work on throwing and catching. Head coach Roland Gonzalez gave to me a progress report.
“It’s pretty obvious we were ready to get out of the house and come back. Attendance has been really good and the kids have been working really hard. They’ve been real consistent. We’re reallly pleased with where we’re at.”
East football has one more week of this section of workouts next Monday through Thursday.
West football, making progress as it wraps up its third week of June drills. Head coach Courtney Boyce told me they are now doing more change of direction drills than early in the workouts. Coach Boyce also told me the Warriors are doing some position specific drills, implementing more pass routes.
“Everybody just came together and knuckled down for these kids so they could have an opportunity to come up here and work out, have something for the day before they got going to the rest of their things. ”
West football now takes a two-week break from workouts, and will pick up the pace again July 13.
