The last time the East and West girls played golf, at the Lauren Johnson Memorial Invitiational. The Titans finished third, the Warriors seventh. East and West girls told me how they felt about their teams’ performance.

Said Titans senior Shelby Austin, “Overall I felt pretty good. We came in third after Westlake and Lake Travis. They’re pretty good teams from around Austin. ”
Said Titans Junior Amber Short, “Personally I don’t think I made a good comeback. My second day was a little worse than my first day. But I am so proud of my team for making a great comeback.”

Said Warriors sophomore Katie Udd, “I felt we all played really good. We all played our best and as long as we continue to play like that we can do great. ”
Said Warriors sophomore Laney Glass, “I feel we all played really good. We took it one shot at a time. We played our best, I think. The other teams got ahead of us a little bit. But we’ll get them this time. ”

Last month, the East boys took third at the Rockport tournament. Clayton Maraggia, third in individual medalist with an 80. The West boys placed 13th at the Northside Invitational at Concan. I talked with the boys about their most recent tournaments.

Said Maraggia, “We feel good we can do something at pre-district.”

Said Warriors senior Jude Stehling, “I feel we’ve done really well. We could’ve done better, always disappointed and looking for more. But we’ve done well so far.”

Said Warriors junior Wyatt Klekar, “We’ve done well over the last few tournaments. I feel we’ve all been playing well. We can probably shoot a pretty good score if we all have a good tournament. ”

Said Titans senior Colton Mundy, “We could’ve done a whole lot better. I didn’t shoot too well but I’m looking forward to playing in the district preview.”

The district preview tournament for East and West golf starts Friday morning at The Club At Colony Creek.
