VISD Football Players Make All-District & Edna-Yoakum Playoff Change

Big change for a big area high school football game this week. The 3A Division I state quarterfinal between Edna and Yoakum, moved to Saturday afternoon at 2:00. The game will be played at Jim Wacker Stadium at Texas State, in San Marcos.

Joe Jon Finley, son of former Cuero and East football head coach Mickey Finley, hired by A&M as tight ends coach, according to TexAgs.com.. Finley, who spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach at Missouri, was a quarterback at Arlington High from 1999 to 2002 before he signed with Oklahoma. He was a four-year starting tiight end for the Sooners, and was formerly an assistant coach at Baylor.
