Victoria West students participate in blood drive
VICTORIA, Texas — West High School students hosted a blood drive Wednesday to benefit the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center.
Three mobile blood centers were parked in the student lot for part of the day. All students 16 years of older, meeting a weight requirement, were encouraged to stop by between classes to donate.
Earlier this week, East High School students also joined in donating blood.
“Well when they say one bag saves three lives, I was just like okay, I’m going to get up and I’m going to go,” said West Senior Bryce Clark. “We have enough where we can give away to help them out, [even] just a small portion.”
South Texas Blood and Tissue provides blood supply for 67 hospitals in 43 south Texas counties, including Victoria.
