Victoria West and East basketball girls played in playoffs

Victoria East advances to the next round; West loses by three

VICTORIA,Texas– After almost a week of delay, basketball resumed Friday as the Victoria West Warriors boys basketball team took on in their last regular season game. The Warriors win 75-65. They finished with an overall district record of 14-2. The Warriors are co-district champions alongside the Flour Bluff Hornets. They will play next week in the bi-district round vs. Roma.

The Victoria West Warriors girls basketball team played Sharyland Pioneer in the second round of the playoffs. The Warriors were in the lead going into the 4th quarter 25-23, but would end up losing 38-35.

Victoria East Titans girls basketball team played Brownsville Veterans Memorial at King high school. The Titans won 57-33 behind leading scorer Gianni Wimbish-Gay with 22 points.

The Cuero Lady Gobblers lost in their playoff game Thursday night against Rockport Fulton 45-36. Cuero finished the season with a record of 16-6 overall. Ivy Koe led the team with 18 points.
