Victoria Symphony opens its season with an electric guitar concerto
VICTORIA, Texas – The Victoria Symphony will open its 48th season with an electric guitar concerto.
Daryl One, music director for the symphony, and guest artist D.J. Sparr joined us on 25 News Now Sunrise to share more about Saturday’s concert.
Sparr was named one of NPR’s favorite 100 composers under the age of 40 in 2011.
The guitarist lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with his family and two dogs.
He has composed and performed with the Houston Grand Opera and the Washington National Opera.
