Victoria school district teacher arrested on drug possession

VICTORIA, Texas –  Two adults were arrested for drug possession on Monday, February 1, according to the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office.

The Victoria County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit and members of the Crossroads Task Force were following up on information that was provided to them about narcotic dealers in Victoria County.

A search warrant was executed in the 100 block of Maplewood in Victoria.

Terrence Orlando Lawson and Jill Kristine Reinhardt from Victoria were arrested for drug possession.

Newscenter 25 confirmed that Reinhardt is a teacher for the Victoria Independent School District.

“She is an employee, she has been on leave since October 2020,” said Superintendent Quintin Shepherd.

According to a news release, about 62.39 grams of synthetic marijuana was seized, 17 grams of crack cocaine, 13.5 grams of methamphetamine, and an assortment of prescription pills, distribution paraphernalia, and a handgun.

• Manufacture Delivery Substance Penalty Group 1>=4G < 200G
• Manufacture Delivery Substance Penalty Group 1>=4G < 200G
• Tampering / Fabrication of Physical Evidence
• Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon
Jill Kristine Reinhardt of Victoria was charged with the following offenses:
• Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity
• Manufacture Delivery Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 or 2A >=4G < 400G
• Manufacture Delivery Substance Penalty Group 1>=4G < 200G
• Manufacture Delivery Substance Penalty Group 1>=4G < 200G

Victoria Independent School District did provide a statement regarding the arrest of Jill Reinhardt:
Today the VISD was informed of the arrest of Jill Reinhardt, who has served as a Patti Welder  Middle School teacher and coach. Ms. Reinhardt has been on leave from the school district since October 2020. Because the investigation is on-going, and because of individual privacy concerns, the district is unable to share additional details, at this time. VISD administrators will work closely with law enforcement to ensure a safe, nurturing environment for all of our students and staff.
