Victoria Regional Airport to receive funds through new infrastructure law
Airport's executive director sees increase in passenger numbers
VICTORIA, Texas – The Victoria Regional Airport plans to receive $295,000 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The airport will obtain this money through President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that was passed in November.
According to the Victoria Regional Airport Executive Director Vinicio “Lenny” Llerena, the money will help fund what he referred to as a “pretty decent project at the airport.”
The FAA said the airport can use the money to invest in runways, taxiways, safety and sustainability projects. Additionally, the airport can used the funds for terminal, airport-transit connections and roadway projects.
Llerena said he has seen an increase in passenger numbers on a daily basis at the airport, especially during this holiday season.
