Victoria Police: No refusal this holiday weekend
Drivers arrested on DWI will submit to blood draw
VICTORIA, Texas – The warning is out. The Victoria Police Department will enforce a “no refusal” policy this weekend for the New Year holiday. The goal is to reduce DWI-related traffic crashes.
Officers will increase patrols in and around Victoria. During the no refusal period, drivers arrested accused of driving while intoxicated will have to submit to a blood draw. Officers will serve those drivers with a search warrant for evidentiary blood draws.
The Victoria Police Department wrote on its Facebook page: “Remember to plan ahead if you plan on drinking! Have a designated driver, use a ride service, etc. We want everyone to have a prosperous, and SAFE new year!”
