Victoria Police Department Vehicle Burglary Numbers

The Victoria Police Department released their crime stats report for the area. From January 1st to February 24th there have been eighty four reported vehicle burglaries. That number doubled from the same time frame in 2016 at forty three. Victoria Police Officer John Turner has concluded most of the reported burglaries have come in cases where people forgot to lock up their car.

” The one common denominator in each of these is vehicles being left unlock, vehicles being left unsecured, property in plain view beds on pickups left unsecured, said Turner.

Out of the eighty four burglaries, fifty seven of them have been unsecured or left unlocked, twelve in the beds of pickups, and fifteen force entries.
Turner urges residents to keep your vehicle locked and keep your valuables out of sight.
