Victoria Police Department releases statement on wanted juveniles

VICTORIA, Texas – On Wednesday morning, the Victoria Police Department released a statement on their Facebook page in regards to wanted juveniles. According to the post, the Victoria Police Department received a call from a Juvenile Probation Officer at approximately 7:31 a.m. on Monday, March 14, in reference to a wanted person.
The Juvenile Probation officer informed officers that they witnessed a wanted juvenile traveling in a van. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Gray Nissan Quest in the 1200 block of Buena Vista Avenue in reference to this investigation. The post said, as officers approached the vehicle, they saw several juvenile passengers and one adult male driver.
Through initial investigation, officers discovered one of the juveniles was a close acquaintance of the driver. The juvenile had requested for the adult driver to provide a ride to the other juveniles in town. Officials discovered two of the juveniles were wanted through the Juvenile Probation Department. They were then transported to the Juvenile Detention Center. The additional three other juveniles, one of which was listed as runaway, were released to their parents. Authorities arrested the adult male driver, identified as Eladio Hinojosa of Victoria. Hinojosa, 47, was arrested for operating a vehicle with an expired license.
According to the Victoria Police Department, preliminary investigation has indicated this incident is not related to child trafficking.
