Victoria plans to honor mother of two found deceased in a burned out SUV last weekend
The Matagorda Sheriff's Office provides an update for an ongoing investigation.
MIDFIELD, Texas – The Matagorda Sheriff’s Office provided an update in the ongoing investigation involving the death of Amanda Johnson. Authorities confirmed the human remains in a 2018 Ford Explorer were those of Johnson.
Three departments in the Crossroads are still investigating her death.
The Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Rangers, and the State’s Fire Marshall’s Office are conducting an investigation that began Saturday, April 17, 2021 when the Victoria Police Department filled out a missing persons report.
The 38-year-old mother was reported missing April 17, 2021.
Lt. James Orr of the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office said they are still investigating this case.
