Victoria neighborhood welcomes home soldier with late Christmas
VICTORIA, Texas- A quiet Victoria neighborhood was lit with Christmas spirit tonight to welcome home a soldier who missed that special time with his family.
First Lt. Michael Petrash returned from being deployed in Iraq to his family, friends, and neighbors waiting to make him feel the love and warmth of Christmas time.
A street of neighbors agreed to leave their Christmas lights up just for him.
His father Colonel Mike Petrash says this was the first Christmas he missed in 25 years, and he was missed dearly.
Many families do not get these moments during the holidays, or ever at all. Petrash says he feels blessed to live in a place that offers so much support and love for his family.
