Victoria man arrested for assaulting a public servant

The Victoria County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30-year-old Ricky Starling Tuesday, for assaulting a public servant.

Police were originally responding to a domestic disturbance when Starling began making random outbursts which lead officers to believe he was intoxicated.

EMS personnel arrived on the scene to check Starling’s vitals due to his strange behavior, however Starling became very uncooperative and would not allow EMS to perform standard procedures.

Starling then lashed out at another individual in the home which caused police to tackle him to the ground.

Staring resisted arrest and an officer used a taser on the lower part of Starling’s back to get him to comply.

Once detained, Starling was arrested for assault on a public servant and resisting arrest.

He was then transported to Citizens Medical Center to be medically cleared.

Starling was arrested back in April for endangering a child.

Once the clearance was obtained Starling was booked into the county jail and is currently being held on a $30,000 bond.
